Style Rider, Andrea Mendoza – Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Style Rider aims to document the world’s most stylish motorcycle riders, be they riders of classic, custom or cafe racer steeds. Focused on the intersection of motorcycle culture with individual style, here we speak to Andrea Mendoza about wearing simple, classic style gear and how riding motorcycles lifts the spirits.

Name: Andrea Mendoza

Residence: Sydney, Australia

Occupation: Bit of everything at SurfSide Motorcycle Garage/Royal Enfield

Instagram: @andrea_ands_mendoza

Today’s ride: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Describe your style: Clean, simple and classic. You can’t beat black jeans and a fitted leather jacket.

Favourite items: I love my Converse, skull and cross bones scarf and Sedici leather jacket.

Next purchase: I just purchased an Arai Dream brown Concept X helmet … looove.

Best local ride: You cannot beat the West Head/Church point loop. It’s close to home and has spectacular views.

Best distance ride: I enjoy riding up to the Central Coast via the pie shops.

Tip for stylish motorcycling: Keep it simple. Wear what flatters you and that you feel safe and comfortable in.

Dream riding kit: I am living the dream! I own my favourite bikes and wear my favourite gear; I want for nothing.

Next motorcycle trip: Smiths Lakes to visit my old pal who has an amazing bike, car and art collection.

Why do you like riding? When I am out on my bike, the only thing on my mind is the road and the journey. I find it incredibly soul lifting. I feel free, I feel young, I feel reborn. It is pure. I always return home with a whole new outlook and on a high. It lifts my spirits and forces me to have experiences I would not ordinarily have had. It is my form of meditation. Riding a beautiful bike certainly sings out that it is indeed the journey and not the destination.
