Style Rider aims to document the world’s most stylish motorcycle riders, be they riders of classic, custom or cafe racer steeds. Focused on the intersection of motorcycle culture with individual style, here we speak to BMW R nineT rider Dylan Boland about the way riding provides an adrenaline rush while also being mentally refreshing.
Name: Dylan Boland
Residence: Melbourne, Australia
Occupation: Sales, Automotive

Today’s ride: 2014 BMW R nineT with Rizoma bar end mirrors and fender, Puig levers, Evotech Tail Tidy and HP Corse Exhaust. I have always had BMW M cars and enjoy the reliability, build quality and handling of the marque.
Describe your style: Modern casual. If I’m not wearing a suit at work, I’ll be in a bomber, jeans and a t-shirt. My favourite items are a Rolex Submariner and Tom Ford Bomber Jacket.
Next purchase: I’m due for some new suits and Ohlins suspension for the rear of the R nineT.
Style inspiration: David Beckham. That guy makes everything look good.
Best local ride: Riding with friends Yarra Boulevard.
Best distance ride: Broadbeach to Murwillumbah through the Gold Coast hinterland. It has everything; scenery, twist and turns and a great pub to finish.
Tip for stylish motorcycling: If it feels good wear it.
Next motorcycle trip: There is some talk of a ride to Lorne. This ride has been on my list for a while and I’ll looking forward to the winding coastal roads.
Why do you like riding? Because when I am on my bike my mind is focused on that one thing which is riding my bike. It gives me an adrenaline kick while also being refreshing. Everything sounds and smells different after a ride.
