Tapavino, Sydney

I have to admit I have always loved the idea of taps but never really loved the tapas experience (Surry Hills’ Bodega being the exception). That changed when I tried Tapavino. Good sized servings, interesting flavour combinations and the ability to book make this my new city stand-by.

For summer I love the shaved cucumber, black olive and seared watermelon salad, closely followed by the hot smoked trout with rocket and grapefruit. In additional, all the tapas favourites are available including Jamon, Chorizo and some very tasty tostados.

The mostly-spanish winelist stretches for pages and whilst it would be tempting to see how many of the wines are actually available, the ability of the barman to create non-alcoholic cocktails that taste great helps round off a fun evening.
